She was junk when I salvaged her in 2004, I paid a total of $500.00 for a numbers matching RS; WOW !!!. She was in a puzzle form, everything was there; but either in the trunk or back seat. No Glass, no fenders or hood! In about 1 year I had her in operational form, excluding paint, wheels and interior. 6 months later and $5000.00 she was painted, the tires &wheels came later. The interior was compliments of my hard earned money spent at Classic Industries and ALSO my blood, sweat & tears.
The engine was compliments from my dad’s junk in the back yard, he had a 350 4 bolt main rusting away / planter. No kidding, the block was full of dirt with plants growing from it! I rebuilt the engine & tranny myself back in 2005 and still running hard, with some minor additions here n there.
My son (born in 2005) and myself did all of the labor from the engine rebuild, re-wiring to installing the new front suspension including Bear disk brake conversion.
After all this work, "MEDUSA" was born !
The best thing was that I spent allot of time with my son during the restoration. Soon he will enjoy the fruits of our labor, since he is learning to drive as we speak. I don’t know if I’m ready to pass that torch, she's been all mine, until now ! BUT I WOULD NEVER CHANGE THE TIME WITH MY SON !
