My 1982 V8 powered Chevy S10. She has a '72 350 4 bolt main block pulled from a Corvette that didn't need it anymore. Inside is a balanced rotating assembly with a forged crank and forged pistons, a Competition Cams camshaft, a set of Ported L98 Corvette fuelie heads and it is topped off with an Accel Gen 7 DFI fuel injection system. The fuel is ignited by an Accel DFI distributor sending signals to a MSD 6AL ignition box and MSD coil. Spent gasses exit through Jet-Hot coated Hooker Super Competition Headers then through a pair of Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. The engine is coupled to a built 200-4R pulled from a Buick Grand National, cooled by a B&M tranny cooler with electric fan and controlled by a B&M QuickSilver Shifter, then power is sent to the S10 rear differential with a set of 3.42:1 gears and a late model Camaro posi unit. The wheels are Weld Racing's aluminum Draglites wrapped in B.F. Goodrich rubber. The truck is lowered front and rear with Belltech springs and 1 inch lowering blocks. Inside are a set of Autometer gauges including oil pressure, trans temperature, coolant temperature, and volt meter. An Autometer tachometer keeps track of the revs and a stock speedometer and fuel gauge handle everything else. The interior also includes a pair of '04 Pontiac Sunfire bucket seats and a later model dash and door panels and an Alpine IDA-X100 iPod Tuner the rest f the system is a work in progress but I have alreay purchased a Rockford 4X50 Amplifier and will be using it to power 2 Rockford 10 inch sub-woofers and a pair of Alpine 6 1/2 Component speakers. Last but definitely not least the paint is a custom three tone base clear graphic that starts out white at the nose then fades to yellow then orange over a base of bright red. Body mods are few and subtle including a frenched in in antenna in the passenger B pillar and a custom front bumper and air dam. The latest addition to the exterior is a Checkmate FX tonneau cover. It was installed to test the fit then removed and is at the body shop being prepped and painted in the same M.G. Rover Monza Red Base Clear paint as the body of the truck.
