This truck was originally a 4.3 V6, and a 4L60E auto transmission. The drive train had around 195,000 miles on it, and was road worthy from the beginning. A 5.7 / 350 that originally came out of a 1990 Suburban engine was freshened up, with a few goodies added. The goal was to build a basically stock-looking truck, but with a little added "pep". So the Throttle Body fuel injection was retained, NEW V8 injectors were installed, and a custom computer chip made for the engine & transmission. The only other than stock additions to the engine was a set of roller rocker arms, and a camshaft that was a stock replacement for an late 80's TPI Camaro. The valve train is full roller, but it is a FACTORY roller setup. A 4L60E transmission was upgraded internally to include the proper parts & torque converter for the V8. An oil filter offset adapter was added, as well as proper engine adapter plates & NEW engine/trans mounts. Transmission is all stock, (rebuilt) except for a shift kit & an added B&M Shift switch, and an extra added bar & plate trans cooler. The cooling is done by dual fans mounted behind the grille, and they are connected to an adjustable thermostatic switch. Exhaust is custom bent & TRUE duals, with specific-fitting exhaust manifolds and 2 Flow master Big-Block series mufflers, and exhaust exits in the stock location, both tips behind the passenger rear wheel. This truck has a set of Pacer 15 x 8 aluminum wheels (Weld lookalikes) with a full set of BF Goodrich Radial T/A 245/60-15 tires. An AutoMeter Monster tach with shift light was added. Air Conditioning and Heater are connected and work very well. The rear fold-out seats were missing so custom made enclosures were made to house a set of Sony Xplod Dual Voice coil 10" Subwoofers; they are powered by a Phoenix Gold M100 Amplifier. The factory speakers were replaced with stock-size Sony Xplod speakers as well, and they are powered by a Phoenix Gold M44 Amplifier. Both amps receive power through HUGE cable, and from 2 digital capacitors. The amplifiers have dual LED fan cooling mounted on top of them. The deck is a Sony Xplod AM/FM CD/MP3.Due to the power requirements of all that was added, a special built hi-amp alternator was also added. I want to add that this truck was built by a talented friend.
