In 2004 I found a rolling body that had been stripped clean of the drive train and interior and then rotisserie restored.  This particular car interested me because of the X33D80 code in the trim tag identifying it as a Z/28, the "- -" paint code, and Black Deluxe interior.  I then found an original 302 DZ engine and date code correct M22 Muncie that I rebuilt with the new wide-ratio Rockcrusher gear set.
The engine has a roller hydraulic cam with .54 lift and 294 duration.  A Victor Jr. intake and 750 double pumper Holley feed the fuel.  The gears in the original 12 bolt rear have been changed from 4.56 to a more street friendly 3.73.
Wheels are 16 x 7 and 16 x 8 with 225/55 and 255/50 series Bridgestone tires.  The front and rear is lowered 2" with Hotchkis coils and re-arched 4-leaf Z/28 springs.  Koni Classics keep the car level in the curves.
Future plans include replacing the current carb and intake with an original 780 DZ Holley and aluminum intake recently purchased on eBay.  These will first be sent out for professional rebuilding.
