64 Year old Al and his 64 Malibu,

The 64 2 door post sedan was my first brand new car and was equipped with the following, a 327 300 hp, a 4 speed and posi rear end. It was driven for 14 years until it was sold to a neighbor's son. Approximately 18 years ago I bought the current 64 hardtop out of mesa AZ and started the restoration (and still restoring and ever adapting). The car spends it's winters in a heated garage in WI and gets driven mostly on weekends in
the summer. . .or when a neighbor wants to see what fast is.
Here are some more specs:
400 small block punched out to 406 with 350 rods.
Edelbrock rpm power package (cam lifters 76cc Aluminum heads.
750 Eldebrock performer carb.
Accel blueprinted HEI distributor.
Keith Black hypereutectic pistons, balanced and blue printed.
2200 stall convertor on a 200 4r tranny (built by bowtie overdrive in california).
3:08 rear gears with a Powertrax locker and Moser axles.

I'm currently running in the 12's with power steering and a steel fan. . .for now

I Love Malibu's, The short squared off body styles are my favorites, like yours and mine, I have the 1978 maroon one on this site. I just like to go driving sometimes, because car shows are long and sometimes bore me to tears, I'd rather do cruise in's and drive my car not just sit around all day for a sunburn and a $2.00 trophy. I do plan to race mine some when I am done at the track in Rogersville, MO but that's aways off yet. Have fun with that "Boo" see ya on the road!!

This suits me just fine. Modified to suit your tastes and still totally usable. Those grandkids are bound to love it,too.
I have a '62 Impala in the same style. I'll post pictures when I get the front end back on it.
